McLardy McShane form next Joint Venture with long-standing partner

McLardy McShane has partnered with Stewart Insurance Group to form the Company’s next joint venture business, McLardy McShane Stewart.

Founded by Michael Stewart, Stewart Insurance Group has been a corporate authorised representative of McLardy McShane for just shy of 10 years.

Stewart will continue to lead the Brighton-based operation as the two businesses enter the next phase of their journey together.

This latest acquisition marks McLardy McShane’s third opening of a joint venture partnership across the first half of 2025, following the Brisbane and Yarra Valley branches.

McLardy McShane Chief Growth Officer Nick McLardy said the Company was excited to be continuing this strong growth phase in the joint venture space with a familiar face.

“We love entering a new partnership with people that we have had long-term business relationships with and this is a great example of that,” McLardy said.

“Michael has built an incredible business with a strong presence across the Bayside and Peninsula regions, and he has a great group of staff working with him as well.”

Michael Stewart said he is proud to now be an integral part of the Group and that he is looking forward to what can be achieved together.

“I’ve worked in the insurance industry since 1999, starting out with my father at Stewart Haig Insurance Brokers, and later working alongside Mike McShane at Kenyon Insurance Brokers. Over that time, I’ve come to consider McLardy McShane as the leading broker in Australia,” Stewart said.

“The Company’s focus on personal service is something my team of 18+ staff and I strive for every day—and we’re always looking to improve. We’re excited to move forward under the McLardy McShane Stewart name and to build a reputation as the ‘go-to’ broker.

“With a growing focus on the Mornington Peninsula, we aim to be a company that truly understands and supports the local community. I’d like to sincerely thank Don, Mike, Meg, Nick and the wider McLardy McShane team for their ongoing support.”
