McLardy McShane Reach Christmas Lunch Raises $155 000

A massive $155 000 was raised at the 3rd Annual McLardy McShane Reach Christmas Lunch on Wednesday 8th December.

The lunch again lived up to its reputation as being the best event on the Insurance Industry calendar with over 600 guests enjoying the highly anticipated luncheon hosted by Melbourne insurance broker McLardy McShane. Again, the nation’s insurers were great supporters of the event with representatives from Steadfast, QBE, Centrepoint Alliance, Allianz, UAA, Premier Funding, ACE Insurance, NTI and Chubb attending.

Guests were treated to an incredible day of entertainment from Anh Do along with Hamish & Andy, however the biggest surprise was the attendance of inspirational Reach founder and cancer fighter, Jim Stynes.

Guests were captivated and inspired by stories of overcoming adversity from Jim, Trisha Silvers along with Hamish Blake, Miss Universe Australia Jesinta Campbell and Reach participant Dannie. Emotions ran high as Jim recounted his intense cancer journey and how ten days before he had been told that time was running out only to be ‘given another crack’ when the tumour in his stomach shrunk in half. Although a little shaky, Jim inspired the audience with his message of living every moment of your life fully. Following his address, the audience dug deep to contribute generously to the $155 000 raised on the day.

The Reach Foundation’s new CEO, Sarah Davies, was astounded at the support behind this year’s lunch. “It’s incredible to see the passion and overwhelming support towards Reach from leading Australian businesses. Their support means we can continue to reach for our goal of expanding our work nationwide so that all young Australians can achieve their dreams, regardless of their circumstances.”

Thank you to all who attended, we are overwhelmed with the result and look forward to hosting the event next year.
